But realities put the kibosh on it. I was getting older as were my eyes, I had several great pistols already that weren’t being used enough, and $4k was a LOT of money that would do a lot more in the bank for me than in the gun safe.
Ughh. I wonder what Nighthawk had in mind with this one? It looks like something Vladimir Putin would carry - designed and carried by a mad Russian and an only used (hard) - when he was drunk or angry! HAR HAR HAR!!!
That’s not a BBQ gun… it’s a Slavic Vodka & Koobasaw gun! Put cheap steel or aluminum cased crap ammo in it, and use it to pot fleeing Ukrainians when your AK over heats and needs to cool down… HAR HAR HAR!
😂👍
I don’t get the distressed look that has become the vibe now either. The girls are buying brand new jeans with the holes in the knees and bum already blown out. They’ve been doing that for awhile but nowadays…the jeans look like they’re TOTALLY shot! They’re so distressed, they’re dead! I guess the ‘beater vibe’ works on a similar fashion principal?
I think I’ll pass on this one too…
I assume the ripped jeans are to get you read for being homeless and trading under table favors for a place to sleep.

"That distressed look..." I call it the "Disneyland Poser" look. You know, like when the stucco on the outside of the house is cracked, and it's time to fix that by re-stuccoing the house but incorporating "cracks" and areas where "the stucco has fallen away," revealing the "bricks" underneath. If you've ever been to Disneyland, you'll know why I call it the "Disneyland Poser" look. NOTHING is real there. Bricks and mortar? Knocking on it with your fist will reveal that it's fiberglass with stucco on it; completely hollow. Just like the lives of those who wear the tattered jeans for that "Mad Max" bad-ass look. All hat, no cattle...
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that feels as nice as a 1911 in your hand is holding a full box of ammo.
ReplyDeleteThe differences between checkering on the frame versus the grips, the lines along the top of the slide, none of it goes together. And the Border Special lettering/font is straight from the 1980's trash sci-fi era. Hard pass.
ReplyDeleteLike my SA ultra compact 45. Carries nice and shoots anything it is fed.
ReplyDeleteI forget who pioneered the bobtail, but it was in the $2-3000 bracket. I felt one, loved it. Back in the ancient '70's and '80's , I carried a Tussy tuned 70 series, Colt Commander. The problem for me was the pointy, mainspring housing corner printed too easily.
ReplyDeleteI traded my 1997, Glock 26, for a like new Turkish, commander length, all steel, matt black, 1911. It's a Tisas, it has, Carry, on the left side of slide, behind the cocking grooves, with a bird of prey under it. That's the only thing on the slide. Sight's are Novak style, three dot. Also has forward cocking serrations. Has the now, new standard beavertail grip safety and ambi extended manual safeties.
The frame only has TISAS KNOXVILLE TN, with the serial no. below, on the right side, between the front of the grip and the takedown pin. That's all. Other than enhancements, it's a straight forward Commander clone. First new handgun I've ever gotten, that was dead on at 25 yards, right out of the box.
All the lines and edges are perfect. I have to do some research to find out if I have a sintered fire control group and if that's a problem. I don't want to buy a milled group, the factory trigger is very crisp at 3 to 4 ish pounds.
The ONE thing about it is, zoomy grippy grips, Google it.
Looks great, like it should be a $1000+ gun. The cheapest price I found on line was $549 and the most was $750 ish, that's downright cheap. I've had it 2 months, and only 100ish rounds through it. So far, real happy.
Is this the first time I brought this up? NO!?!...well, I'm old and starting to, or still, repeating myself. Did I mention my concussions?...What!?!...TBI?!, Traumatic Brain Injuries!
THAT'S WHY! Now get off my lawn! Whatta ya doin' over here botherin' me!?
