  1. Ah, yes; the mid-70's Coupe De Ville... We called them "Joo Canoes" and "Tuna Boats" back in the day... I'm surprised that thing isn't all rusted out around the fenderwell, and that the tire skirt is even still there! Those cars were made for the rich, who traded in their cars every year. Cadillac didn't give a DAMN about rustproofing them!!!

    1. Yep - I remember those roofs rotting out too. At the time nobody seemed able to fix that…

  2. I had a 1960 Coupe de Ville back in 81' and loved it. Got it for all of $500. Around 89' I got an El Dorado with the 460? It was a beast and had to be certain to wear seatbelts otherwise your ass was sliding on those leather seats around corners like a hockey puck. DG

  3. It beats a pickup with a 2 foot trailer hitch sticking out to catch your shins

  4. Got the wife a '95 Buick Roadmonster er, Roadmaster. Last of the land yachts. Iess than 100k, immaculate, got it cheap from a "don't wanter", because we had to put new springs, shocks, front end parts because somebody lowered it, not in a good way. Amazingly fast and nimble (comes with a factory Lt1). The young mechanic that test drove it, declared, enthusiastically, "One of those will be my next new car, it looks like a Crown Vic on steroids!" (it does!). It was cute. The cult following for these (who knew?) says it's the low dollar, sleeper version of the SS Chevy, Impala (there was
    such a thing?).
The wife has no trouble navigating the beast, she's had years of experience navigating F-250/F-350 Fords, she knows how to park.
She's NEVER named a vehicle before (she's not the type), but she named the Roadmonster "Helen", Helen Wheels. Even got a front, custom license placard, white/blue to match the car. 20 mpg on the freeway!

    1. Thats a great car Mike. A true sleeper and the LT1 can easily have the HP kicked up to 300+ fairly easily and inexpensively too. DG
