One of my coworkers took his .300 Win Mag to Ontario near Kapuskasing. He saw all the Indiges carrying 30-30s and asked them what they shot with them. Short answer: Everything.
The next time he went he took his .308 Winchester. To provide a frame-of-reference, you can stuff 85 grains of powder in the .300 Winchester magnum case, 50 grains in the .308 Win and a freckle more than 30 grains in the 30-30.
