The Filthie DIYist

Awhile back I watched one of the gunnies blogging about putting solar panels up on his home and just kept quiet as he extolled the virtues of solar power and his installation. I kept my silence, because when it comes to True Believers in the various clean energy myths - there is no dissuading them especially when they get suckered for the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. They’re much like those zombies that gave millions to corrupt, fake television evangelists back in the 70s. The truth of the matter is that the average prepper or home owner is far, far better off with a gas or even diesel genny than solar panels.

Today preppers give millions to the Chinks via the solar power grift. Wind power is an even bigger pipe dream. Most of the small homeowner wind generators around here are dead within 5 years or less. They don’t do well in climates with weather that involves rain, snow and sleet. The Chinks are involved up to their elbows in that scam too.

Having dealt in the past with sketchy chink suppliers… I know EXACTLY what those guys are all about. Those slope headed bandits will steal anything that isn’t nailed down, and they’ll lie through their teeth at you if it means they can screw you out of an extra 5 cents. When it comes to money grubbing shysters - those bamboo twisters can take eeeeevil jooooos to the cleaners, HAR HAR HAR HAR!! HAR HAR HAR!
😂👍

Currently, I’m working on a power pack for CHUNDERBIRD 2 down in the Reclusium. The problem for me right now is the lithium ion batteries. I’m just after some chit house 18650’s. I’ll take either Samsung or LG batt’s … IF I can find them. Their storage capacities tend to reflect their advertised values. The cheap Chinese knockoffs are no surprise. The old nickel runs that ya get what ya pay for. In this case, they are right on with that.

Having said all that… the smarter chinks are wising up. Ol’ Roundeye Devil may be a high trust society dumbass sucker… but eventually he’ll smarten up and stop dealing with unscrupulous suppliers. This is actually a huge fear in China right now and their corporations are reading the riot act to their QA/QC departments in many cases. It doesn’t matter how cheap your product is, or the profit margins…if nobody buys it you don’t make squat. As with anything Chinese… trust only once you’ve verified. In many industries their quality is going straight up… but for many… the traditional Chinese mercenary trade attitude still prevails. They aren’t like the nepotistic jews either… the Chinamen will happily shaft and shiv each other too! HAR HAR HAR!!!

I’ve not studied the economics of DIY battery power packs… but I will begin compiling data ASAP. If you’re interested in it yourself…

Can a guy really save any money once you factor in the pricier high quality batt’s? I didn’t realize how easy it is to make custom power packs… or at least… it LOOKS easy…? I ordered in some cheapy chink batts to do a practice run on. I’m probably going to have to put up with horrible deliveries and prices for the real McCoys… but will wait until I’ve proved the feasibility of it to myself.

Any of you guys doing this? Any pointers or tips are sincerely appreciated.

  1. I use the 18650's in my 1w laser and perimeter alarms. I needed some replacements so the zon had what was required, and the ones I received seem legit. The weighing to determine fakeness is an quick way to know before testing. Dude in the vid is way smarter than I am by a long shot!
