  1. What? No .22 CB? My favorite indoor round, perfect for small vermin and misbehaving grandchildren. Barely leaves a dent in the sheetrock when you miss.

And I've got a hankering for that .327 mag, good way to get 6 rounds out of a J frame if nothing else. Ain't bought one yet, just cause I've yet to see one in a gun store. Looks easy to reload. Christmas is coming up and the wife won't even know she bought it for me, if you get my drift. Have to get a set of dies for stocking stuffer also.

    1. Still only holds 5, but 9mm out of a snubby, blows the doors off of the best 38 sp. So does the 327.

    2. Actually, Taurus and Ruger both have "J-frame" sized revolvers in .327 that hold 6, and Ruger has their small single action that holds 7. Of course that's theoretical as all the revolvers are "out of stock" on the site I looked at, but still anything's possible.

Gun? I don't need no steenky gun, I beat them to death with a cartridge.

  3. I do have a soft spot for the .38 special, only because it was the first pistol round I ever shot that wasn't a 22.

  4. .22 LR - I have several pistols and two rifles using .22 LR. An excellent choice for fun!
    .22 WMR - I've got a Ruger Single Six in .22 WMR. It's about like shooting a .38.
5.7x28 - I've shot an FN Five-seveN, and I'd like to own one. There is no recoil at all.
25 ACP - My uncle carried a .25 in War II; he was OSS, helping to organize the French resistance.
    32 ACP - I've got a pristine Colt .32 auto, and it's nice.
327 Mag - I think this was supposed to replace the .357, but failed to do so.
.380 ACP - My daily carry pistol of choice is the Ruger LCP-II in .380
9mm - I bought an S&W DA auto in 9mm, mainly for the hi-cap magazines.
357 Sig - Never shot one.
.38 Short Colt - An odd caliber, but if I had one I'd keep it.
.38 Special - I have two revolvers, both are suitable for carry guns.
357 Mag - I own two revolvers in .357 Mag; they are in my nightstand. One S&W, one Colt.
.40 S&W - The .40 was supposed to be a big deal and replace the .45. It didn't.
    10mm - Don't know. I've never shot one.
    44 Special - No. If I have a .44, it's going to be a .44 mag.
44 Mag - The damn' thing kicks so hard you wouldn't believe it. The few times I've shot one, my hands went numb and the pistol shifted in my grip.
45 ACP - Yep. Betsy is a .45, as is Big Nose Kate.
45 Colt - I think you mean .45 long colt. I had one and got rid of it; I couldn't hit anything with it.

There's a handful of .22 variants that are missing here, starting with the .22 BB cap.

  5. I have something in most (no 22 WMR, 5.7, 25 or 327). I still think the most interesting thing I have, though, is my .45-70 Govt revolver. I use it as my sidearm when hunting in Africa. :)
