much reduced with steel.
I visited the NYC Museum of Natural History expressly to look at their ancient weapons and armor collection. Getting past the very first melee weapon (a fist size rock Zg used to bust Og's head) I found the armor collection. They have a complete set of horse barding, less three small pieces. What I found most interesting was a suit of armor consisting of cuiarass, plackart, greaves, and chain mail pauldron. The wear and tear on the armor indicated it was used and worn in battle, but the amazing thing was the size. The wearer had to have been around nine feet tall, or better.
ReplyDeleteThat made me proud to be an Aussie.
ReplyDeleteThat poor Corporal, a Thompson weighs more than a Garand, 60ish lbs there. I'll take one to help out.
