So I know people try to be artsy-fartsy, but who the hell takes a pic of the gun upside down? I can make out the S&W logo on the "NO" gun, but don't recognize it. Any info?
I think that's an S&W Md. 59. I own one, and it took some time for me to learn to shoot it. The pistol is 9mm, and has a nasty snap to it. However, it has a few good qualities: 15 rounds in the magazine double action autoloader with an external hammer decocker & safety small enough to fit most holsters the 9mm is adequate for anything I'm likely to shoot at with it
Agreed. My first centrefire handgun was a bobbed 59 and I hated it. I shoot tin cans and paper so it just wasn't a good fit for me. Others might like it I suppose...
The best argument I've heard for a "Meh" gun is that if you ever lose it for whatever reason (confiscated after an "incident" perhaps), you simply go your gun safe and get out another one.
My own use it and lose it pistol is a FEG PA63 Semi Auto Pistol, which is clone of the Walther PPK. The caliber, 9x18mm, equates to a .380 on steroids. It's a DA automatic with the standard controls, and the trigger pull is a bit stiff. I think I paid about $150.00 USD for it, and I liked it well enough to buy a second one.

ReplyDeleteIt looks an awful lot like my model 39-2.
ReplyDeleteIt sure LOOKS like a 39-2, but what's with the airsoft slide?
Delete(MFG MARUSHIN). The original S&W slide was marked "pat pend" under the ejection port.
Anon, I see what you did there.

ReplyDeleteYep. The best 'Meh' gun is a Glock hands down, or one of the other Tupperware guns.
