It looks much worse than it actually is…
Well the maiden flight of the retard trash plane went exactly as expected. We went to our new top secret airbase out in the country and set up for the first flight. The bird balanced just the merest smidge nose heavy - which is good. All the control surfaces checked out. Lord…it’s been awhile since I’ve been on the sticks…but all systems were GO. This is a hand launch airplane so I had Flapz throw it so I could have my full attention on the controls. I spooled up to full power, held full up elevon - and gave Flapz the signal.
The bird went straight up, vertical… and I cut the power and it nose dived into the gravel. Had I been thinking and faster on the sticks and maintained power I suspect I could have levelled it out and flown it. But a guy gets into habits. The nitro powered Turd Bird does it too: I pull full up elevator when I take off; it’s just a habit I’ve gotten into. But it goes vertical on take off too. Because it’s a little heavier up front she goes scooting along the ground the - BOOM - she’s in a vertical climb and I just level it out and fly more or less like a white man once I’m in the air. I need to actually think as I take off. Use the runway, gently apply up elevator and do a civilized climb out.
Or at least… that’s my theory for now. But I know it! This bird wants to fly! I’m going to put a little more weight up front and straighten the nose and then try again. I’m calling it a success because this is just a proof of concept for me. Once I get my build sorted out and my brain on the task I will expect better results.
I was on track to build a big low wing gasser awhile back. The problem with that was that it was a big plane (30cc gas engine) and requires a proper club and runway… but then things started to go sideways with the club at Stubfart Airfield. The neurotic geezers that ran the club shut it down during the Covid fiasco. Then Turdo’s faggot socialists at Transport Canada went after us with a raft of bullshit regulations, licensing and cash grabs. Then the local county re-zoned the land we used and as it stands we kinda-sorta operate month by month, not knowing if we’re going to lose our airstrip. It’s pretty much a farce at this point so I abounded the big bird build and I’m going to just fly rogue out in the country by myself. I’d rather fly at the field but it is what it is.
I’m going to build another electric fixed wing called the Speedy Bee. I just got the plans printed today! The Bee is a comical looking, easy flying fatty that’s right up my alley. It’s got a small 40” wingspan and will fit easily into the back of my truck. With electric power, it will fly quietly and hopefully not attract the attention of busy bodies and scolds that currently infest Canadian society these days.
Mark Robinson on YouTube built this one from scratch - and while it looks silly and simple, the build is quite involved and more detailed than the Ugly Stik that was my first scratch build. It should be just perfect for out in the boonies where I can fly and relax. We’ll see how it goes! It’s been a battle getting air time for the last little while and it’s too bad to watch what’s happening to the hobby up here in Canada…but hopefully we get a referendum that will get Alberta out of confederation and kick those liberal assholes out east to the curb once and for all. You’d think those statist pricks would have better things to do… but liberals fuck up everything.

That electric Speedy Bee looks like fun. If it is painted in bright colors will you be able to fly it in winter and find it on the snow?

Vis a vis Alberta, Saskatchewan, and potentially at least parts of Manitoba exiting the Confederation, this oytube post was informative. It was realistic as to the obstacles to overcome at this time, and at the state of play in Canadian politics and legal constraints with the first nation treaties dating to rule by the crown. Worth a watch it would seem.

Here's my "out there" theory. God's created souls/people are "old school normal", i e, compassionate, understanding, kind, helpful, etc.
True Commie/ Socialists have Satan created "lesser souls". They are never truly happy, they get a brief, endorphin high, from forcing us peons (pronounced pay-oans, it's Spanish) to knuckle under Statist, DICKtates. Typically narcissistic, controlling, socio/psychopaths. Sometimes they are NPC's.
"Normies" come in all flavors, can also be NPC's.
It helps me put assholes in their proper box.
