Seeking Inner Peace: Reframing

Stubfart OyTube commentary par excellence!

Like many, I have been losing my marbles over this trade war/tariff bullchit. It’s time for us all (and perhaps, me, most of all) - to relax, take a pill and chill.

Fact: nobody “wins” in a trade war. NOBODY. Not even a mighty tycoon like Blumpf. In a full blown trade war EVERYONE loses. Profit margins get cut to almost zero - which sounds good to the customer, until he realizes that those ‘savings’ will come at a cost in terms of service and quality. We see this every day with products from China. Sure, you can buy stuff from them at half the price - but quality? There’s a reason why you can buy 3 cheap Chink tee shirts for the price of an American one. In a year, you’re going to be cutting them up for gun patches and shop rags. If you are buying hi tech stuff… if you have problems with the product? “So solly, Round Eye!! You buy it, your probrem! HAL HAL HAL!!!” Customer and service support are foreign concepts to those slant eyed, slope headed whores! If you need top notch product and tech support… we’ve all been on the blower with some shit-skinned pin head in India who can’t speak English and doesn’t give a hoot about customers on the other side of the world. These things are all by-products of a trade war that we in the Americas have so far refused to fight. And no bones about it either - we put ourselves here. We did it because we are every bit as greedy and stupid as those monkeys in the third world. And now, they’re eating our lunch. And our kids live in our basements and can’t afford families or homes of their own because they can’t compete with third world slave labour.

Donald Trump does NOT want a trade war. If this trade war goes hot and stays hot - Canadians will go back to the Dirty 30s. Turdo may well find himself getting lynched on a lamp post along with some of his fart catchers. Canada is America’s largest trading partner. If we go to the poor house, a LOT of Americans will come along for the ride. Blumpf is already dodging bullets. If he impoverishes his country he’ll be getting shot at on a weekly basis. He knows and understands this too.

Trump is playing a gambit. He doesn’t want a trade war, he wants a deal. And for all his fake,  faggot faced bluster… Turdo is going to give him one. When the dust settles everyone will claim a victory and caper for the cameras. Trump is famous for his bombast, and the western faggotry doesn’t know how to handle it. If a trade spat erupts… it will be very short lived.

Years ago I was having a huge problem with a very large electrical contractor out here in Alberta. They’d come to us wanting us to supply for the big oil projects. It was my job to go through the bid packages, do the product specifications, technical notes and clarifications and exceptions and produce a bid package.

But this one contractor had a cheapskate shit skinned mofo on their procurement team, and he’d take my package, show the other vendors my work and pricing… and they’d merely copy my work, substituting their own products and come in at lower prices. This guy was literally cutting my throat and expecting me to provide the blade and do the dirty work. If I was 5 cents higher on the package - that son of a whore would go with my competition. I got so damned mad - when the next RFQ project package came in, I didn’t acknowledge it. I carefully went through it, though, prepared our bid - but didn’t submit it on the due date. At coffee time, on the last day, good ol’ Packie-Go-Lucky calls in demanding his pricing from us. I told him we’d declined to bid.

He hissed and sputtered and asked if I knew who I was dealing with. I told him if he had a problem with it - he could go talk to my boss because I was done with him - and hung up in his ear. So ten minutes later, he calls my boss, Lesiure Suit Larry - and starts cutting him a new one. Problem was…Larry knew the score too. “Not are we no longer bidding on your projects, Mr. Packie… and if you are the designated contractor on any future projects, and we are hard spec’d on that project - we’ll be raising your prices by 10 or 15 points to recover the costs incurred by doing all the engineering on these projects for you - while you shop our prices out to my competitors.” Then Larry hung up on him too. Mr. Packie was stunned… his was one of the largest contractors in western Canada… and we’d just told him to get stuffed! By lunch time their company VP was on the line, and Larry told him the story and he apologized to us and promised to deal with our concerns. In the meantime… could he pretty please have a bid package from us…? I faxed it over to him about ten seconds after the men were finished talking. And we got the order too. We were the smallest suppliers for our product line in western Canada, but we were good competitors and good suppliers and our end users liked and respected us and our product. Some two bit penny grubber is not going to derail big projects where big money is in play.

Trump is a master at games like this. This is how these games are played.  Turdo is going to deal with - or his successor is. Trump is going to soften his demands and give a little here and there.

Who knows? Maybe I’m wrong about all this… but it smells like old school street hockey to me, now that I’ve had a chance to ruminate on it.

We shall see, whadda I know? In the meantime…I’m not gonna worry about it.

  1. You might be on to something, I could not understand why President Trump keeps giving extensions. Not bad for a hair lipped retard.

One of the things I love about Blumpf and Putler is that they don’t give a rat’s ass about what the cool kids have to say. The twitter mobs, the queers, the troons, the vibrants, the rage head cat ladies - they can run their mouths till they turn blue… but they won’t be changing anything. Ignoring those types is the first stage of actually getting shite done.

  2. Back in the 90's we had a similar issue with the purchaser for delta hudson engineering. This dipshit from india was so bad that if he was the lead engineer we slapped 20% on to our price for dealing with his stupidity.

    1. I hork and spit when it comes to Indian engineers. I suppose second gen ones might be alright, but if they are fresh off the banana boat? They are the laziest, most arrogant people I’ve ever dealt with.

  3. We win a trade war by restarting manufacturing back up in our own country.

    1. Agreed. But you don’t do that by taxing the shite out of raw materials coming in like oil and gas. You go after value-added and manufactured goods like cars and computers.

At least, until you secure your own supply…

    2. The tariffs don't apply to energy products.

    3. According to our premiere Alberta was getting hit with 10% on oil and gas. Maybe Trump took them off? Alberta has been trying to work with Trump (and rightly so)…and Smith was hacked right off about it…

  4. I have to disagree here. Ross Perot correctly warned that NAFTA would result in a sucking sound as our jobs went to Mexico and Canada's jobs went to the USA. It's about time our trade went from sucking to blowing.

    1. And this brings us to the crux of the matter. Trump is not interested in trade war, he wants a secure northern border. He wants Canada to start paying its share of defence. He wants us to be more than fair weather friends, or outright enemies as we currently are under Turdo. He wants to partner up… and unfortunately the average Canadian is too stupid to see the benefits.

I think he may well want to partner up with some of us, and give the finger to the rest… but who knows…

  5. Globalism and the greed that fuels it is the root cause of all our ills! Payed off politicos and their phalanx of bureaucrats running the fake ministries they populate are a bane to an competitive business model.
