I’m not on social media much. Bookface and Twatter are corrals for the herd and I have no interest in running with them. But there are times when I am tempted. It’s part of human nature I guess. It’s the old story about otherwise smart people ending up in stupid places with stupid people and winning stupid prizes - the herd goes thundering by, all noise, hoopla and drama…and a person watching that will come out of his house and go along to see what it’s all about. It’s a human instinct that is a time waster at best, and potentially fatal at worst. So it is that I am content to watch the gormless herd mooing and grazing within the confines of the Big Tech platforms - from a distance. Upsetting truths, people and influences are carefully negated by human and AI censors so that the herd doesn’t become alarmed and stampede.
I AM on Blab. There’s no fences, no real moderation and any attempts by the Usual Suspects to silence free speech are shot down in flames by the American first Amendment.

But Twatter has also become chaos now for much the same reason. I guess Elon fired most of the censors when he cleaned house, and now the snivellers can’t stifle the speech they hate. The flock has decided to abandon Twatter and migrate to Blue Sky in search of nesting areas in which to lay eggs…
Couple days back I heard the site was crashed - the censors were washed away in a flood of complaints and demands for poasters to be moderated. The spokeschink on the vid says the place is great - it has a mute button!!! And - you can label people for even MOAR effective censorship!!!!

You have to use the Mute and Block buttons, you need a thick skin, and when it starts to grate on you, you have to get out. I follow only a handful of friends and people that poast quality content - they are few and far between, you have to hunt for them... but they are there.

Yeah, I hear you, but I ain't retired yet and I'm actually trying to limit my internet wanderings. I don't want to spend the time hunting for a few good posts among an open sewer, rather be actually doing something in the real world.
