The laws of Moses were superseded by the laws of Jesus. And they only applied to the Jews. Who mostly ignore them.
Exhortations to control your women are literally everywhere in the Bible, beginning with Adam and Eve.
"No gays allowed, drowning is too good for kiddy diddlers, and women need to shut up and do as they're told" are three of the five rules in the New Testament.
Most militant atheists, feminists and sexual degenerates can quote scripture better than the devil, McC. Oddly the person that did this one is over on the lame side. As I recall, the New Testament specifically removes restrictions on food, women are expected to control themselves, and as you say…I don’t recall Jesus saying anything about queers or tats.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Romans 1:27 ESV And the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
Body modifications are an old testament rule, like the prohibitions against cutting your hair or trimming your beard.
Matthew 18:6 "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."
Saint Paul (who was Saul) wrote epics about the need for women to sit down and shut up, how they were banned from any leadership roles in the Church, established the "no gays" rule, and set the criteria for priests and bishops to be established married men (with only one wife) who were pillars of their communities.
Luke 17:2 ESV It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.
Mark 9:42 ESV “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea."
Generally these are taken to refer to pedophiles but most modern bibles now say it as to 'trip up'. The original greek work is σκανδαλίσῃ which means "to entice into sin or apostasy".
I take these verse to mean a much broader definition to include anyone leading or entice a child into sin or doing something sinful with a child. I include those transitioning and grooming kids in this category
It seems to me that John 1:1-3 nullifies the argument about Jesus not saying anything about the LGBTQetc crowd, among other things. AFAIK, the dietary laws are the only Old Testament laws that were repealed in the New Testament.
When Abraham bargained The Lord down to five righteous in Sodom and He wouldn't destroy the place, that was Jesus that Abraham was talking to. There were only four righteous: Lot, Mrs Lot, and Lot's daughters. Four. Kaboom! When The Lord said "I Am" at His arrest and one of the corrupt show trials, everyone knew He was also The One that spoke to Moses in the burning bush, and manifested His Glory on Mt Sinai and in The Tabernacle and Temple. In the Comma Adultera, He upheld The Law by confirming the death sentence on the woman....but cleverly spared her life. God seems to be smarter than we are. He did not set aside The Law, He fulfilled it.
Trying to be funny only exposes the lack of knowledge and reality. The people they want to sell this to usually do not read because they lack the skill and comprehension abilities to understand. This is properly referred to as a false prophet and false witness. But you do you there buttercup. These folks are the primary definition of how hard loving the sinner and hating the sin can be.
