The Compleat Shotgunner

Ahhhhhh. Brass hulls, black powder, fibre wads - and cast lead! 👍👍👍

The only thing better would be paper shotgun shells. They were everywhere 100 years ago when I was a kid… but were replaced by plastic…😞

  1. Wonder if the round ball would work in the shot barrel of a LeMat? Though from what I've seen it's load is a bit anemic even with pellets.

  2. Plastic was an improvement. Paper hulls got iffy if they got wet. I have plastic Remington 4 Buck from fifty years ago that got wet that I would still trust to repel boarders today.

  3. So a single round ball? Pretty much converts that shotty to a shitty musket, amirite? At least the brass is reloadable.

  4. My Italian, 44, Colt Dragoon, is amazingly accurate with lead balls. Rifling is your friend, unless you're shooting shot.
