Apparently Raquel auditioned for the part of Mary Anne on Gilligan’s Island. How did she lose? A hundred years ago I came across an article that said the actress that eventually landed the part… turned into a giant pot head in her old age and she looked absolutely ghastly.
Drug culture is not kind to people over time… and seems to hit women especially hard.
I can imagine how well
this one will age…
I think your info is a bit off, google Dawn Wells. I believe she passed a few years back, but even in her old age still looked great. Never heard a bad word about her either, especially not any drug stuff. And Raquel? Stunning! Beautiful! Sexy! and way too sexy to play the prototypical girl-next-door that Mary Ann was supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, firmly against wimmen getting inked. My wife decided late in life to get some ink, small, tasteful, and normally covered when dressed. I advised against it but she insisted. I think it has to do with her depression and maybe she hoped it would brighten things up. Goes to prove my theorem that all wimmen are brain damaged, just to different degrees.
Is that even real? The two ends of the chain are imbedded in her back. Thats either an AI pic or she's into body piercing.

Dawn Wells (Maryann) wasn't a pot head, she performed in Shakespearean theater. She looked great up to the day she died.
ReplyDeleteMaybe green ink fades over time, like red. I never trusted what was in all that ink. Vegans never consider the question... WTF?
ReplyDeleteGoddammit and blast!!! Suckered again!!! When will I EVER learn?!?! I saw the thing about Dawn being a degenerate pot head with ridiculous photos of her taken during her arrest. Being Hollywood, you get lazy and assume that it's the truth - after all, half of those cretins are jews, pedophiles and affirmative action flunkies.
ReplyDeleteI fear I must retract and apologize - and admonish myself to fact check everything, and practice what I preach.
Yeah, I don't think Dawn was a pothead. She was actually the "prize" at a local indian casino not long before her death; a "meet & greet" if you won whatever contest the redskins were running. Her picture didn't look half bad. Raquel probably didn't get the part of Maryanne because she would've upstaged Ginger!
ReplyDeleteAnd did you know... that the entire lagoon area in Gilligan's Island was actually nothing more than a set in the parking lot of CBS Studios in Burbank, California?...
ReplyDeleteNot surprised Pete - there’s a gulch that every villain and hero from the old west fought and died in… right next to a big bejezzus hotel!
DeleteDawn Wells was the only member of the cast smart enough to demand residuals in her contract. Everybody else worked for cash, and got nothing from decades of reruns.
ReplyDeleteI’m not kidding ya, McC - the article I read should her looking like a half dead crack head and it didn’t even occur to me to fact check it.
DeleteIt just goes to show you can’t be skeptical or suspicious enough these days…
Sounds more like Tina Louise (only surviving castaway last I checked). She did not age well.
