Dagger Or Poniard?

Hrrrrrrmmmmm. There’s some snazzy cutlery there.
But they seem to be specialist’s tools - for refined assassins maybe?

Maybe it’s something genetic but if I had to carry cutlery for social occasions…
I think I like the more practical simplicity of
a classic Scottish dirk…

  1. Nice blades but they need a larger hilt. If yer gettin' stabby and yer hands get all bloody and shit, yer hands could slip past the handle and be cut by the blade.

  3. That dirk looks awesome. But round knife handles - doesn't anyone become confused how to keep blade edge perpendicular with what you want to cut ?

  4. I like #28. Spring loaded to provide additional "treatment" on the way out.

  5. I'm kinds confused about that last one, number 28. I'm guessing that the side pieces are latched against the blade until it is used to stab something, then they expand outward. That would just mean that you couldn't get your weapon back out.

  6. #22- the stiletto. I just learned the proper way of holding one, with the index finger in front of the guard. Small entrance wound, little external bleeding. A true specialist's tool.

  7. #28 looks like a type of defense weapon, like the old sword breakers that where used in the left hand to catch and hold the other guys blade while to ran him thru with yours.
for myself, I always liked the old WW2 dagger myself. have 2-3 different versions on it now. wished I still had my old Gerber mark one. the short version -5 inch blade and very handy to use
rode in the small of my back for years before my kid found it and broke it . damn kids.
