Gawd I love the big fighters! I love the look, the artistry and the feel of them. Most of all, I love the blades that are beautiful in their elegant simplicity. It’s easy to look beautiful with inlays and exotic materials. There is something to be said for the traditional designs that are flawlessly executed.
I have no idea of the maker or cost… but whatever. I could never personally justify a blade like that because I can literally do everything I need to with a small shithouse Kershaw EDC folder knife. But they’re a much heart wants what i5 wants, I guess.
That blade is a Sam Lurquin. Looks a bit like his 'Raptor' model. Not a bad anti tank knife. Personally, I've always liked the D.H Russell's original design. Makes for a good all-purpose bush knife.
ReplyDeleteI purchased one of these in 07, back then he called it the 'Rampage', it is an 8" blade instead of 6. This thing is all I need when in the bush.

A slightly fancier version will set you back $4000.
ReplyDeleteKnives are really expensive these days. I have several pocket knives that I collected in school early 70's. Good ones too. D
ReplyDeleteI wandered around in Venice Italy a quite few years back and walked into the Doge's palace. There were a heap of old bodkins and daggers that were clearly well used on display under glass. They really have something about them, not threatening or sinister - just understated and very tool-like - similar to a Fairburn-Sykes knife without the extreme needle point. Completely different to modern "fighters".
